A Message from President Jason

I am incredibly proud and excited to share the awards our club received at the Rotary District 5000 Conference:

• Runner-Up for Community Service
• First Place for Vocational Service
• First Place for International Service

Anddddd... we won CLUB OF THE YEAR!

This recognition is a true testament to the passion, participation, and dedication of our members. Together, we continue to serve Oahu's Second City, strengthen the Kapolei community, support one another, and live out Rotary’s commitment to “Service Above Self.”

Club of the Year is not an individual achievement. It belongs to every member who volunteered their time, supported our projects, attended meetings and events, shared ideas, built partnerships, and helped our club make a meaningful difference throughout the community.

I am so proud of everyone in our club, and I especially want to thank our Board for their incredible support, guidance, and commitment throughout the 2025–2026 Rotary year. Your leadership played an essential role in everything we accomplished together.

Congratulations, Kapolei Rotary! This recognition belongs to all of you, and I could not be more honored to celebrate it with such an amazing group of people.

Partnership Outreach With Salvation Army
Saturday morning outreach to those in Kapolei without a house, in partnership with two Salvation Army lead volunteers and other kind people. Thank you, Colleen, Liz, President Jason, Larry, Charlene, Frank, Kaylee and Simon.
 
This recurs on the third Saturday of the month from 9 am to noon.  Supplies are all donated by either the Kroc Center or their volunteers, but we can help.  They need men's pants, small to medium size and belts; men's and women's tee shirts, large and extra large; men/women's jogging pants, medium and large; men's and women's underwear and socks.  They do not need large quantities, but rather consider donating one of each and bringing them to the outreach.   One of the volunteer stores the supplies and wagons in her car/house.

You can support the Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation (HRYF) through Foodland's annual Give Aloha Program!
Friends, family members, and Rotarians can make donations at any Foodland, Foodland Farms, or Sack N Save store. Simply provide the HRYF organization number 77199. Foodland will also make a contribution to participating organizations, helping increase the impact of your donation.
Best of all, every dollar donated through this program counts toward your club's 2026-2027 per capita giving goal, helping support scholarships and educational opportunities for Hawaii's youth.
The Give Aloha Program runs from September 1 through September 30. Keep your receipt and give it to Natasha!

Energy, Creativity and Tenacity!
                       
August 6th: An amazing Thursday morning meeting with activist, Beth Leeds! 
Beth shared her story of challenges and successes and inspired us to believe we too can take small actions that can make a big difference. 
She mentioned that she is an artist and one of her endeavors was to rainbow paint things and that eventually led to the creation of My Little Pony! 
She also shared her truce flag project and encouraged us to think about how we could use these little flags, delivered to a powerful individual, to achieve big and needed changes.

Fellowship and Fun While We Serve!
 
We had fellowship and fun at a domestic violence shelter on July 9th. We prepared and served a meal consisting of Beef Curry with rice, potato salad, fruit cup & a roll. The kids had a double hamburger from McDonalds. Desserts were provided by Tracy & Barbara. We played games like Duck Pond & ring toss (no pics), and passed out backpacks with schools supplies to eligible grade school boys & girls. Special mahaloʻs to Joni, Tracy, Kathy & Barbara!

We will reach out to youth and those in need with hands on and financial support to make the "Second City of Kapolei," the larger local community, and the world an even better place to live.

We will provide extensive membership and leadership development that will become a model for other clubs.

 Our shared commitment to "Service Above Self" will continue to energize and connect our diverse membership.
